I have a super fun Lord Hill Farms Wedding on the blog for you this morning! Rena + Tom planned such an elegant and lovely November wedding (and it barely rained!). There are a ton of details of their day that I absolutely adored, but I’ll just lay out a few for you:
Ok I LOVE love loveee when couples do something different than what tradition calls for. I do love when little girls are flower girls, but it’s so fun to see a pup run down the aisle, or grandma gracefully walking down, or like in Rena’s case, her marvelous aunties (and uncle) putting their whole hearts into a flower girl display! They were the cutest and really ran with their roll!
This wedding was definitely full of things I truly love about wedding days. Especially when weddings bring families together. Rena and Tom’s family reminded me of the big Christmas Eve parties I have every year with my family. Their families held hands during the ceremony, they hugged each other during toasts, they loved each other so much and weren’t afraid to show it. And when the famous song ‘That’s Amore’ came on I saw my favorite part of the reception. Everyone circled around Rena and Tom and sang ‘That’s Amore’ to them. It was sweet, it was fun, it was everything I like.
Before Tom purposed to Rena, he secretly practiced playing the ukulele every time Rena left the house. It wasn’t until they were at the top of a volcano in Hawaii when Tom pulled out a ukulele and surprised Rena with not only him knowing how to play the ukulele but also a proposal! It only seemed fitting that they had their friends play “I lava you” on their ukuleles during the ceremony. A tear may have formed in my eye. Maybe.
